How to tell if your new plan will actually last...this time 💭

Ever told yourself, “Right, this time I’m sticking to it” — three workouts a week, Sunday meal prep, maybe even getting back on the bike at the weekend?
You’ve got a plan, you’re motivated, and you’re ready to go all in.
But before you do — stress test it.
Ask yourself one simple question:
“On a scale of 1–10, how confident am I that I can do this on a normal week?”
Not a perfect week. Not when you’re ridiing the high of motivation or feeling superhuman. A normal week — with work, life, stress, and all the usual chaos.
If your answer isn’t at least a 9/10, pause there.
Then ask the follow-up:
“What would it take to make me a 9/10?”
Maybe you need to shrink the change — make it smaller, simpler, or less frequent.
You could also adjust the setup — change the timing, swap days, or tweak how it fits into your week.
Or you might just need a bit of extra support — someone to keep you accountable or help fine-tune the plan.
It sounds simple, but this quick confidence check can save you a ton of frustration.
If you’re not at least a 9/10 confident before you start, chances are it won’t last once real life kicks in.
Small, confident steps beat big, unsustainable leaps every time.
P.S. If you enjoyed this week's Thursday Three, please share it with a friend.
Thanks,
Jamie
