I. Are you having a "Blah" day?
Iām not sure who needs to hear this today but sometimes just staying afloat is progress in itself. Some days, or even some weeks, that's all you need.
We all love the idea of constant progress, right? Seeing those run times go down, those biceps bulking up, and that body fat just disappearing.
But let's be real, sometimes life gets in the way. You have one of those hellish weeks at work, and suddenly your kids decide they hate every meal you cook, even though they loved it last week.
I'm not trying to sound like a total zen master here or make excuses for why you didn't totally kill it at the gym. Consistent effort is the name of the game when it comes to progress; no way around it. But the thing we often forget is that "effort" can look different from day to day.
So if you had a day where it seemed like you didn't make any progress, but you managed to hang in there, just remember: you're still in the game.
II. Windmills
I'm a big fan of windmills. They're an excellent tool for strengthening the core, with the added bonus of enhancing shoulder stability.
The half-kneeling variant is ideal for beginners to learn the movement. However, it still presents a great challenge for more experienced lifters. Give it a shot.
II. Question to Ponder
What would it look like if it were easy?
P.S. If you enjoyed this week's Thursday Three, please share it with a friend.
Thanks,
Jamie
